About This Point of Interest
Located in Smith Hall on the Science Mall Plaza, the Kent State University Planetarium, maintained by the Department of Physics, is used for both courses and presentations to outside groups. Shows available for programs include An introduction to the Night Sky, which introduces the viewer to constellations and interesting objects to look for in the night sky; The American Indian and the Night Sky, which presents several Indian legends concerning the night sky; and The Springtime of the Universe, which discusses the astrophysical evolution of the universe. In addition, the planetarium presents a series of four public shows, primarily for small groups and individuals.
