About This Point of Interest
E. Turner Stump Theatre, located in the Music and Speech Center, has housed major productions since 1960. Fully renovated in 1989, the theatre boasts seating for 506 people, a large trapped stage that measures 100 feet by 45 feet, and movable draperies for both intimate and spectacular productions. The theatre is named after E. Turner Stump, author of the lyrics to Kent State University’s alma mater. The theatre opened in the fall of 1960 with a production of Cerano De Bergerac, under the direction of G. Harry Wright.

Parking
Information

Visitors may park at meters located in most parking areas, in the Student Center visitor lot, or by obtaining a $2, “one-day” permit from Parking Services. Rates are posted at each meter and at the Student Center lot. Also, most departments offer “one-day” permits to visitors.
